‘IRON LUNG’: A Technical Triumph with Subdued Scares

I went into ‘Iron Lung’ completely blind and left feeling more cramped than scared. It’s a massive slow-burn that arguably takes too long to get moving, and despite an ending that is a literal bloodbath, the horror feels secondary to the atmosphere.

However, even if it fails to inflict true terror, ‘Iron Lung’ still deserves credit for its impressive practical effects and creative camera work.

The overall production design is especially noteworthy, demonstrating that a massive studio budget is not necessary to create a striking visual world. That alone is a win in my book.

This could’ve easily been a direct-to-YouTube fan film, but big props to Mark for betting on his vision and giving it the full big-screen treatment it deserved.
It’s undoubtedly a crowning achievement for Markiplier’s community that proves he’s a creative force to be reckoned with, but if you’re looking for high-octane terror, this one probably won’t satiate your hunger for a scare.

‘Iron Lung’ is now playing in PH cinemas! Whether you’re a hardcore fan of the game, a true-blue Markiplite, or just looking for a fresh, unique experience on the big screen, this is definitely worth checking out.
